Ostrich Farm Postcard

A 1910s era postcard in my collection showing an ostrich-pulled wagon at Jacksonville, Florida.

I've been to an ostrich farm. I was told that the ostriches there would steal your glasses if you let them. I was also told that they had a nasty foot claw, and would gut you like a velociraptor, if you let them. Fortunately, I experienced neither. There were no wagons at the ostrich farm, either.

SHAZAM! ... might this be even more dangerous than chicken farming??

I'm in, and headed out to the ostrich store

Is now the time to admit that I have a fascination with ostriches?

Nah, too embarassing.

The signs on the monkey cages at the zoo read the monkeys will steal your glasses. Are these animals trying to tell us something? Like they need eye exams?

I watch birds all the time and they can be very vicious. I think I would fear a bird that was bigger than me. At the very least, I wouldn't get close enough for it to steal my sunglasses and/or gut me with its foot claw.

Yeah, I am against being gutted, but what a great postcard!
