You know, I seriously thought about this, and it doesn't matter which party were to draft the reform. There is no way in political hell that they would make healthcare easy. It's going to make the current system look like child's play.

Excellent post, sir, you've covered all the bases. You have also possibly inspired me to write about one major aspect of this. Thanks.

Great posting.the chart reminds me of the Medicare System.

Irrational right-wing propaganda, but cute. Did you make up this posting yourself? Or did you borrow the text and pictures from somewhere else?

Here's a partial rebuttal to your position on healthcare:

IHS = model for healthcare

HAhaha, that was great! I'm glad you have as much in our federal government as I do :)

I especially liked the access to alternative medicine picture.

Rob: If it had been right-wing propaganda, it would have poked fun at Democrats instead of poking fun at Fox News.

Skepticism of the messes that Congress conjures is not, or should not, be a partisan matter.

Sebastian: Dr. Andrew Weil, or Grandpa Munster. You make the choice.

How did I miss this post?

Love the hospital. hee hee

It's a laugh or cry situation. I'd much rather laugh. Thanks. Very clever!

That was hilarious, thanks for the good laugh.

Rob: Yes, I made this. I gathered clip art here and there, and I doctored (ha) some of them.

You understand perfectly.

I wish I could read it, but my eyesight isn't what it was, and of course I haven't been to get new glasses in about three years.

There must be a magnifying glass here somewhere, but I can't find it. That is what I get for trying to clean up the place.

Laughing: click here for a larger version of the actual chart. It should be better to read.

Fantastic dmarks! Hopefully this obamabortion of so-called "healthcare reform" will be defeated.

cube said...

Very nice. You've portrayed what a nightmare obamacare would be yet you did it by using humor.

dmarks said...

Unfortunately, I don't see any reason to believe that the results of this won't be a mess. And that the main impact on American health care that it will really have is something that no one has any idea of now.

I remember the political reform in the 1970s that was supposed to get Big Money corruption out of politics. It resulted in the PACs: more and more big money coming through slightly different channels, was all.

Then we had McCain-Feingold, designed to do the same thing. No one predicted the 527 loophole... and there's still more and more big money.

Two examples of "good intentions" from Congress that made the problems they were attacking even worse.

This healthcare bill is an ill-crafted hodgepodge, and it is a rush job, too. So there is no telling how things will end up after it is passed. No telling what loopholes will be exploited to create new problematic situations no one has any idea about now.

That was wonderful..Good job.

dmarks said...

Crazy: The French plan, whatever it is, probably involves "Watching Jerry Lewis Movies Therapy", brie, and berets.

dmarks - yikes - i don't like jerry lewis! tha won't work at all~

You're "poking fun" at a whole list of things favored by Democratic politicians. You're poking fun at the idea of healthcare with any sort of government participation.

What you're not doing is poking fun at the congressional role in creating a new system. I.e., the law-making process.

All this makes the posting right-wing propaganda.

Ironically, Laughing at the Slut could get low-cost eyecare under a universal healthcare system. But conservatives don't care about the millions of Americans who can't afford decent healthcare. The "solution" for them is to go blind, suffer, or die, depending on their affliction.

Rob said...

P.S. I don't think there's any one bill under consideration now. Nor is there any firm deadline for passing such a bill. A "rush job" would be a concern, but I don't see any evidence of that.

A not-so-good future...

This reminds me of your "critique" of the healthcare plan:

http://jimhightower.com//node/6897

Fortunately, there's still no government takeover of healthcare in the works:

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-healthcare-house1-2009aug01,0,7261961.story

Every House member was given a card summarizing details of the $1-trillion bill--including new insurance subsidies for the poor, tax credits for small businesses that provide coverage for their workers, and expanded prescription drug coverage for the elderly.

The legislation also would broaden Medicaid, the federal-state healthcare program, to cover more low-income people. Middle-class workers would receive new subsidies to pay health insurance premiums. And government-sponsored insurance would be available as an alternative to private plans.

dmarks said...

Rob: "Propaganda" as you use it being a word for "information you do not like", it is clear.

Anyway, by not poking fun at Congress, wouldn't that make it "left-wing propaganda"? After all, the Democrats completely run Congress.

There was indeed a rush job on this legislation. An attempted one, anyway. But it has been slowed down, and not by those who favor the bill.

Sure, there can be eye-care under single payer universal health care. But you would be subject to a monopoly. Completely unaccountable. It would not matter how many months you would have to wait for your appointment. There's be no competition, and no incentive for anyone to do the job better. Or even well. And under single payer, healthcare would be rationed, limited, and controlled.

Thankfully, single-payer is not even on the horizon. And the remaining rump of it, "the public option" has died. This was the bad "And government-sponsored insurance would be available as an alternative to private plans" part of the bill.

The public option is bad for so many reasons. For one thing, it would be the "camels nose under the tent". Without any sort of sound financial accountability, the public option would be able to "compete" by undercutting and wiping out non-government healthcare.
