The beginning of this one is for the Twilight fans who read my blog. I know there are a few, such as Melissa who now has a blog at
http://melissa-chrysalis.blogspot.com/. The image below is of the Edward Cullen, Jacob Black, and Bella Swan characters as they will appear in the forthcoming comic book (graphic novel) series published by Yen Press. I have not bought any comic books or graphic novels lately, but I am sure that they cost much more than the value of a single yen. Which, according to
Wiki Answers, is a little less than that of a penny.

I read about this graphic novel in an
Entertainment Weekly article about forthcoming projects. The ones also mentioned include:
- Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland". Is it any surprise that it also stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter? I'd also bet that it has a Danny Elfman soundtrack too.
- "V", a movie based on the 1983 television special/miniseries about lizard people who came to earth to eat us. From what I remember, they were faster than and looked a lot hotter than Sleestaks.
- "Zombieland". Looks like it is full of zombie clowns. What could be more scary?
- "Stargate Universe". A TV show coming in October. This one looks interesting. Like a darker take on the venerable "Stargate" franchise.
- "Sherlock Holmes". Entertainment Weekly describes this as a kung-fu take on the great old detective. "Out went the cap and curby pipe. In came bare knuckle brawling". It stars Robert Downey Jr. He was busted for cocaine possession during his troubled years. The character Sherlock Holmes was also a cokehead, but lucky for him he was snorting it before it ever became illegal.
- Entertainment Weekly did not mention the forthcoming movie of "The Time Traveller's Wife" in this article, but that is coming out soon too. I saw a trailer for it last night. I'd better finish the book, hadn't I?

People are going to go crazy for those Twilight graphic novels. The teens around here just keep reading the four novels over and over again.
I think I will want to see Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland.
I read and enjoyed Time Traveler's Wife...which makes me hesitant to see the movie :-)
We, my family, were huge fans of "V".
I am a big fan of Lizards as aliens.
That's a must see.
Twilight books won't stay on the shelf where I work. A graphic version would make a nice addition.
I'll watch all Johnny Depp movies and love Helena Bonham Carter since she was in Fight Club. Great in Big Fish too!
Zombie clowns! I'm hitting that one too!
Robert Downey Jr. is a terrific actor. Such a perfect Charlie Chaplin. Glad he's clean and working.
Time Traveler Wife is a must too. Boy... lots of great things coming up. Thanks for the heads up dmarks!
Would that be V as in V the new series on ABC, or V as in a movie Kenneth Johnson is trying to make?
"V" as in the new series on ABC in November.
Movies/etc in the EW article that I did not already mention are "The Book of Eli" (Denzel Washington post-apocalypse movie, "District 9" (alien invasion, live action movie), "Jennifer's Body" (some sort of killer sex demon movie with Megan Fox), 2012 (disaster movie), and "9" (post apocalyptic digital cartoon)
I might check out the graphic novels as I have just finished the first two Twilight books and they have been pretty decent.
sherlock also mainlined the stuff. big sigh.
I'm still here! I've been trying to get around to everyone I would visit and let them know that my blog address has changed.
I might have to check out those Twilight graphic novels! When Audrey and I went to see Harry Potter this past weekend the movie theater already had huge banners hanging in the lobby for Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait to see it, Alan Rickman (aka Professor Snape) is also in it!
While there for Harry Potter we saw a preview for Sherlock Holmes, it looked pretty good, a lot of action in it. I've also been seeing the Time Travelers Wife. Can't wait to see that movie, I loved the book!
Come visit when you have a chance.

Graphic novels are pretty damn pricey.
I still have to read the Time Traveler's Wife. I've heard good things about it.
Sherlock Holmes wasn't primarily a bareknuckled brawler, of course.
The Time Traveler's Wife is a great book, but the movie stars Jennifer Garner. That strikes me as a major example of miscasting.
The EW article really played up Holmes as a martial artist.
I've never been much into vampire stories. I do really like the Sandman series by Gaiman, but that has nothing to do with vampires. Just thought I'd share that :)
Sebastien - thanks for saying about vampires - cuz i can piggyback on that and say - vampires scare me.
i really liked the time traveler's wife, however. no vampires in that. just a naked henry.
The graphic novel looks cool... Edward's lookin' hunky as usual, lmao. But I don't think I'll buy it. Having all four books plus this might send me into maximum geek overdrive.
