Now the statue needs some major maintenance. Here is an article [Newspaper Rock] about the controversy over whether to fix it or get rid of it. It's not the only concrete boondoggle in the area. A year ago, the concrete Steamboat Wilkie that wouldn't float, just upriver in Winona, Minnesota, was demolished.
