Well, bless you, dmarks! I just responded to your comment on my blog, clicked over to see what you had to say, and found you referring readers back to me! Since you are a science fiction guy, let me note that in my own apocalyptic moods (I try to keep them few and far between), I think that someday "real" bookstores (like mine, obviously!) will be like food storehouses but for information, poetry, opinions and the like rather than cans of corn and beans and bags of rice. If all reading comes to be done electronically, how can a reader know when alterations to text have been made, unless there are still physical books, somewhere, stockpiled by those of us who love them. Well, as I say, it's only in certain dark moods that I think like this. Most of the time my concerns are more focused on the immediate survival of my business and the health and viability in the coming years of the little town I call home.
