Calvin and Hobbes Winter

Around the blog neighborhood, one fellow blogger recently blogged about snow like they hadn't seen in quite a while.

I'm sure a lot of other bloggers, especially in the eastern part of the US, are seeing a whole lot of snow this time of year. I picked up an old "Calvin and Hobbes" book this morning to look at. I had not read or seen "Calvin and Hobbes" for many years, other than the ubiquitous Calvin stickers I see on the backs of cars almost every day. The Calvin cartoon below is appropriate for those seeing snow this time of year when they usually don't see it at all, and the snow they see will soon be gone:

I'm not finding anything like an official "Calvin and Hobbes" website to go to, but click here for someone else's page which shows other funny winter "Calvin and Hobbes" comics, mostly involving snowmen. Around here, the snow isn't anything unusual, and the big storms seem to pass way south of us. How is everyone dealing with the heavy snow, and does anyone else have fond memories of reading "Calvin and Hobbes" ?

We only had an inch or two from the storm, and the other storms missed us. Hard to believe. lol

We're supposed to get more tomorrow night, but I'm not sure how much. No doubt they'll close school again.

LOVE C&H.

No snow this far south in Florida (Hernando County), but I adore Calvin and Hobbes!

I think that it was officially 12.5 inches, though I doubt that I actually got that much in my yard. Still, this is a record snowfall since like 1964.

I don't think we've gotten any one "snow" that big so far. As I might have mentioned earlier (or was it elsewhere) the big storms seem to be passing us by.

Calvin & Hobbes is awesome! I didn't find out until a few years ago that Watterson stopped drawing them back in 1995.

The love of Calvin and Hobbes is alive and well in a whole new generation. We have several large compilation books at the library and the kids LOVE them.

We've had enough snow all Winter to last me a lifetime. Bring on Spring.

Aw, I think I have that particular book! I loved Calvin's imagination.

No snow in my neck of the woods, but I did appreciate Calvin and Hobbes. Hubby liked it even more.

C+H? Absolument. Wonderful comic, holds up incredibly well , and one of the rare stories of someone getting out of the spotlight at the right time.
