Today is Daylight Savings Time. Well, it was last night. How many of you forgot to set your clocks last night? I did. My schedule was all out of whack this morning. And I think this is one of those "church attendance is 3/4 of what it is normally on Sunday morning" Sundays.
I wasn't the only one. Below is a picture of the downtown clock tower. The time is really 11:45 AM. You wouldn't know it from the clocks on the tower would you?
To the right is a family vacation photo of Big Ben in London, from 1992. With so many people looking at that clock, I suppose they always keep it right, even with daylight savings time. Oh wait. England is too smart to even have daylight savings time.
So, how did to do with daylight savings time? Did you set your clocks the night before, or did you somehow forget and turn out surprised in the morning like I did?

What better musical illustration for this post than Pink Floyd's Time, from "Dark Side of the Moon"., below. There was a recent news story about Pink Floyd sueing EMI over releasing single tracks from its concept albums. Well, all this will do I'm sure is encourage piracy of Floyd single tracks, and people to enjoy them on Youtube like I do.

I actually lost power, too-so we were all fouled up here. Fortunately, my IPhone both caught the time change and managed to wake me up in time for work.
I have noticed, as I'm sure you have, that one of the problems with digital music is the loss of the album as a unit. "Dark Side" is a fine album, of course, and each track stands on its own just fine. But it loses something when you listen to "Time" by itself-the flow is broken.
The IPod doesn't help this, as ITunes pays no attention to running order and won't play tracks from albums like "Dark Side" back to back unless you tell it to.
Most of my clocks automatically reset, so there isn't much of a problem. I grew up in Arizona, and was super messed up by daylight savings time when I was 10 and we moved to the Midwest and I had to experience it for the first time.
I am time challenged today. Yes, I did get things set back. But my body refuses to acclimate yet. I've been walking around feeling abused all day! And I even went to bed at the hour formerly known as 9:00 PM. I loath springing forward. Of course by the end of summer, I'll be loving it. Ha
The time change was not a problem yesterday.
And now the clock in my car is correct.
I changed my clocks before I went to bed so I wouldn't be confused when I woke up.
It is hard losing that hour for a couple of days, but I love the light evenings.
I changed my clocks toward the beginning of Saturday evening. This seems to help my adjustment to daylight savings...
Michael: I love concept albums, but see any type of restrictions as only encouraging piracy. So what you will end up with, say, is someone with money, willing to pay for "Another Brick in the Wall II" (a huge hit, but also a part of a concept album). The record company is refusing to take money for those who want to buy it.
Churl: Mine have different times. And because the time lady is long gone, I'm never sure what time it is.
Ananda: My body adjusted to it. I was just annoyed by the change. If the Earth were run by Vulcans, who are more logical than humans, we'd have only one time zone for the whole planet.
Laughing: You sound well organized. And yes, my car clock too is more accurate.
Laura: And I just forgot.
Leo: We did that last year, but...
I saw this and thought of you immediately.
