New "Land of the Lost" Spielberg TV show coming to NBC.

Misleading headline, I will admit right off. The new TV show is not actually "Land of the Lost" But the concept of the TV show does remind me of "Land of the Lost", a TV show from the 1970s

"Terra Nova follows a family from 100 years in the future who travel back in time 150 million years to prehistoric Earth ruled by dinosaurs."

Read more about it here.

I wonder if this new show could have actually been a re-imagining of "Land of the Lost" if Will Ferrell had not tarnished the name with his recent bad movie. The executive producer of "Terra Nova" is Star Trek guy Brannon Braga. Science fiction, dinosaurs, time travel, and what will probably be a Swiss Family Robinson-type situation. What's there not to like? I hope they find room for a Sleestak or two also.

I am not the only one drawing connections between the "Terra Nova" concept and "Land of the Lost": click here to find more.

As for Will Ferrell, click here to see Stewie's informed opinion about his work.

That actually sounds pretty cool. I might have to check it out...As long as Will Ferrell is nowhere near it.

I think if we can get Will Ferrell interested in big-screen adaptations of TV shows such as "The Brady Kids", "The Tortellis", and "Supertrain", maybe it will keep him busy for a few years and he won't be doing any harm.

I hope it doesn't have Sleestaks or any alien race.

Will Ferrell... ICK!

But the series sounds fun. The talent is there. I am looking forward to it.

Sounds like swiss family robinson, or lost in space story lines, with the history twist. Even the last Ice age cartoon had this type of element. :d
However, with the new technology it should be a fun show to watch. With Stephen Hawkings talking about Aliens, and the new manufacture artificial computer generated life, the show is not far off on relevant topics today.
