Halloween in July (Christine Baranksi Friday)

Isn't it a little too early?

I saw these Halloween decorations yesterday. Odd time. In front of a church. Odd place. I've known churches to have Halloween parties in the past, but these seem to be getting phased out in favor of Judgement House-like efforts. It's Vacation Bible school season. Maybe someone is doing a Halloween-theme Vacation Bible School? Nahhhh.

I do have two friends who love Halloween. Maybe this might be the sort of thing they'd do. Just maybe

I've heard of Christmas in July before (mostly to do with shady appliance dealer sales?), but never Halloween in July. But it does exist: click here, and check out the cool Jack-o-Melon. How long before we get Judgment House in July also?

There's something to be said for Halloween in July, I guess. You get to make good use of those Halloween decorations. And we do have four major candy holidays (Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, and Halloween), but none in the summer. So why not? But costumes? Nah, probably not in 90-degree weather. And since it's Christine Baranski Friday, how about this photo of Christine Baranski all ready for Halloween in July by being a vampire (from the Celebrity Vampire page).

Halloween always feels like it's being held in July here in Florida ;-)

But with costumes only, and no candy, right?

That jack'o melon is great! I might do one for the 4th... and cut out a hole to melon ball out the fruit, then light him up!

Christine is still looking pretty hot in vamp style.

Their little daycamp is probably just desperate for activities for the kids. Beanbag toss...but all we have for a target is this jack-o-lantern. Oh, who cares? Now it is like you were there at their planning meeting!

What do you mean there is no holiday in the summer, when the 4th of July is right around the corner! And I prefer it 100 times more than Halloween (which is a moocher (aka liberal) holiday, isn't it?)

There is a movie being filmed in the Cleveland area right now with a Halloween theme so one town is currently decked out in Halloween decorations. My nephew went to a casting call for extras and was called to come in his Halloween costume for a trick-or-treating scene!

Beth: Notice I said candy holidays. Can you name a single piece of 4th of July candy?

:)

CB is looking pretty bangin' as a vampire, bra. She could do her Bela Legosi imitation on me anytime.

Sorry, I did miss the "candy" part, but I don't really need a holiday to be buying candy.

Dr. Wonka frowns upon candy holidays.

Good link! I'd forgotten about Dr.Wonka being a dentist who hates candy!

I think the addition of Dr. Wonka, with Christopher Lee playing him, was the best (only good?) change from the previous Willy Wonka movie.

That's weird. I don't see how they could tie in Jack-o-lanterns with bible school.

The way some people dress nowadays, I think they celebrate it year round, just my opinion.

However, I do like the Goth look.

Leticia: Haha. True. I was watching "Beetlejuice" last night. Remember Winona Ryder's Goth look?

Secret: I might just call that church and ask what they are doing.

dmarks, I do remember her outfit. I loved it. It has a kind of dark beauty, that you can admire.

Did somebody say, Winona Ryder? reeeeoooow

Yes, but alas no Winona Wednesday feature. Not yet, anyway.
