I am really out of it when it comes to Marvel comics. What is with the monochrome costumes? They appear to have chemical diagrams or Tron-suit lines on them.
For non-comic book fans, the man covered in what looks like busted flower-pot shards is The Thing. Wolverine is in the front. Captain America is he one with the mighty shield. Wolvie's got pretty good claws. He'd have been good to take to a night on the town at a great Chicago steak house. There were so many great costumes, and everyone wearing them was always happy to stop so I could take a picture, like this one.

The new version of the Fantastic Four, the Future Foundation, sports b/w costumes.
I'm not a comics person, but I find I always enjoy pictures and stories from the conventions. Everyone just seems so happy and in their element.
Looks like a fun event. I grew up as more of a D.C. comics fan myself, but I did read some Marvel ones back in the day when their costumes were quite colorful. Must be new management that prefers monochrome.
BTW my nephew is named Logan after Wolverine. My brother-in-law has met Stan Lee twice. Since Logan's birth, I've come to the Marvel side, at least for his presents.
Sleestak: Wow. It sounds like some sort of Presidential initiative, like Americorps or Thousand Points of Lights whatever it was that the first Bush had.
Laura: Yes. and there were even more B/W heroes on this team.
Cube: Yeah, there's no equivalent to Stan Lee on the DC side, for sure.
The Fantastic Four are temporarily wearing black-and-white costumes. But I haven't seen Wolverine or Captain America in B&W costumes. They may just be an homage to the FF's costumes.
I don't know how I missed this one! You come across the most interesting places to stop. I've been a long time fan, but never have I seen them in black and white costumes.
Silver Surfer, Thor, and Submariner - all very underrated, in my book. Marvel rules.
