Pooh Day

I heard on the radio today that today is Pooh Day, the birthday of A. A. Milne, the author and creator of the Winnie the Pooh characters.

Click here to see some of the original artwork for the Pooh characters. Rather understated.   The image to the right shows Piglet and Pooh in the snow. Well, there is a lot of snow outside here now.

It is also UFO Day.  Maybe a good day to go outside and look for flying saucers as well as pooh bears. Have any of my readers seen flying saucers?

Thanks for sharing Pooh and Piglet. I need to look at those drawings again. Their charm is in their simplicity as well as in the expressions.

I love Pooh, Piglet and all the others. The drawings are wonderful.

We have no snow, only rain, rain, rain.

I have never seen a UFO personally.

The notion of Pooh Day had never entered my mind, and now it won't go away. I feel compelled to have some bread and honey.

We do not fling saucers about in this house. We use them for the bread and honey.

LOVE Pooh! I had a teddy bear as a kid I named Pooh, and carried around by his nose. Mom had to sew a new nose on him more than once. Still love Pooh, the philosophy of him and his friends just warms my heart. ( I came over from PJ's blog, because I saw you on her blog list and you had a title with POOH in it! LOL!)

I love AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh! And I do believe that Shepard's simple, sweet illustrations add so much to the Pooh stories and Milne's other work as well.

I have never seen a flying saucer...do you think it looks anything like a little round bear on a balloon looking for honey?

When I was growing up, we had the series of Pooh books with the old, sweet art. I love them.
