All write! (No trouble in Mason City), 1914 Postcard

The postcard below is of Mason City, Iowa, in 1914.
Postcard: South Main Street, Mason City, Iowa, 1914

The caption on the back reads

Jan 7, 1914
At Mason City all night with Roy. Be home tomorrow the 8. All write. Hope you are the same. So good bye.

It is to Mrs. M. L Cronbaugh in Belle Plain, Iowa.

A Frank Lloyd Wright building can be seen on the right in this postcard. Mason City is the inspiration for River City in the musical "The Music Man".

And yes, no Sleestak in this post.

For some reason, I always associated 'River City' with Peoria. Mason City's Meredith
Wilson wrote the musical, though, and Robert Preston was great.
(whenever channel surfing, I always stop on Music Man; the music, the tale and the acting are quite compelling.

Did you ever see "The Last Starfighter"? It would have been quite a lackluster movie without Preston's presence.
